About the Author
Since childhood I’ve been an artist and worked as a graphic designer in the corporate world and for newspapers for twenty-three years before I quit to write full time. Another Great Sequel in this Series

“Dinosaur Lake III: Infestation” by Kathryn Meyer Griffith is book number three in the superbly crafted “Dinosaur Lake” series by this author. This time around Crater Lake National Park Chief Ranger Henry Shore has far more than he can handle in unwanted prehistoric park visitors. Mere months after apparently defeating the horde of flying gargoyles, bigger, badder, meaner and more – many more – dinosaurs literally start to crawl out of the woods. Paleontologist Dr. Justin Maltin, Chief Ranger Shore’s son-in-law, has a theory. Not a good one, but a theory nonetheless. Unfortunately, by all appearances Justin’s theory is dead on. The dinosaurs are through playing around. This time they are serious about taking over the world.

“Dinosaur Lake III: Infestation” will not leave you with a smile on your face. Sorry, folks… there’s no “happily ever after” this time. I will predict, however, that when book IV comes along, there will be a waiting list of faithful readers, anxious to find out what will happen next. Griffith has outdone herself this time. Crater Lake National Park, along with the nearby town of Klamath Falls, Oregon, were virtually annihilated by the overgrown lizards, but that’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Not only has life forever changed for Chief Ranger Shore, his family and his staff, but this time the change may be permanent. Only time will tell.

Excellent

I waited until I had read the complete series before rating and commenting not these books. One word - Excellent! Definitely worth the time to read all three books and they definitely should be read in order. You will find yourself thinking of the characters in these books as your family and friends throughout their trials and tribulations. Outstanding writing with a great storyline that stays consistent through all the books. My only question is - will there be more coming? Please.

Another dynobite installment in this series

The first book in this series had me on the edge of my seat. The action was intense and the scares were awesome.

The second book was just as, if not more, intense. And the bodies piled up.

Between those first two books, you lose some beloved characters and some not so loved.

So, now for the third book in the Dinosaur Lake series.

I started this book feeling a bit worried. After the first two, I wondered if the author could keep up the intense action and suspense. She didn’t disappoint. In fact, this may be the most nail biting of them all.

The dinosaurs are rampant with a capital R! They are everywhere, in many shapes and sizes. And, of course, they are very hungry.

Chief Park Ranger Henry Shore and his wife, Ann, have made it through many dangerous encounters with these monsters over several years, losing friends and hope. They managed to triumph, but this time they might not be so lucky.

Dinosaurs are emerging again. So many, so hungry, so unstoppable. It’s not just the park and their town in danger anymore. The dinosaurs are popping up all over the US and Canada and who knows whether this will become a worldwide phenomenon. It may be the beginning of the age of dinosaurs again.

I have to applaud Kathryn. She gave me more dinosaurs. Bigger, meaner ones, and sneaky, littler ones. The scenes of carnage were bloody wild and so many of them. I got all the action I could ever want.

And the characters. Well, there are my favorites, mentions of loved ones lost, and some new ones. I was crossing fingers and toes that my favorites would survive. You never know with this author.

I sure hope there are more books coming in this series. Please let there be more!

While this is the third book in the series, you could easily pick up the story here. But, if you are a fan of action, intense suspense, and monsters, you’ll want to, need to, go back and read the other books.

About the Author

�R. Murray Thomas (Ph.D., Stanford University) is an emeritus professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where for three decades he taught educational psychology and directed the program in international education. He began his 50-year career in education as a high school teacher at Kamehameha Schools and Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu, then continued at the college level at San Francisco State University, the State University of New York (Brockport), and Pajajaran University in Indonesia before moving to Santa Barbara. His professional publications exceed 340, including 46 books for which he served as author, coauthor, or editor.

Recent theories of human development

R Murray Thomas, emeritus professor in psychology from the University of California in Santa Barbara, has been very active over the last 50 years in the field of human development with close to 50 books to his name.
Human development is the way people change with the passing of time and in this book you will find an introduction with a brief description of nine different models of human development put forward during the 1880-1980s.
The rest of the book is devided into three parts: Extensions of tradition, products of social movements and final observations that illustrates the theories of human developemnt during 1980-2000.
The last 20 years have been influenced by the discussions of children growing up in poverty, ethnic minorities, sexual orientations and the impact of feminism. The coming years with a wider globalism, the influence of the internet and the impact of international terrorism will certainly have new therories and models come forward to explain human development in the 21st century.
A short and quickly read book with an overview of human development for students in psychology, social work, educations and human development.

About the Author
Horacio Falc�o is an Affiliate Professor of Decision Sciences at INSEAD, where he teaches mainly on the topic of Negotiation. He is also a founding partner at Pluris, where he conducts negotiation and mediation training, coaching, facilitation and consulting to the private and public sectors. Previously, Horacio worked at Cambridge Negotiation Strategies and CMI International Group (a spin-off from the Harvard Negotiation Project) and at two prestigious law firms in Brazil. He founded and was the first Vice President of the Harvard Latin America Law Society. He has worked for the International Court of Arbitration in Paris and as a Harvard-trained mediator he has mediated cases at the courts of Massachusetts. A lawyer trained in both civil and common law systems, Horacio graduated as an LL.M. from Harvard Law School with a concentration on alternative dispute resolution in 1997.
Since then, Horacio has been traveling all over the world mediating complex disputes, facilitating dialog, developing negotiation and consensus building strategies. He has lived in Brazil, US, France and Singapore.
Before INSEAD, Horacio taught negotiation at the Program of Instruction for Lawyers (PIL) at Harvard Law School and mediation at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University and at the Harvard Mediation Program. Besides, Horacio has founded three companies and negotiated extensively on their behalf. He is also an active angel investor in a variety of start-ups around the world. He received his MBA in 2002 from INSEAD. Since then, he received the following awards: • Best MBA Elective Professor in 2004, ’05, ’06, 08 & ’09 (INSEAD) • Best EMBA Elective Professor in 2005 (INSEAD) • Best TIEMBA Elective Professor in 2008 (Tsinghua University, Beijing, China).

A Practical Guide to an Intellectual Challenge

This book achieves what it says in the title - it shows how get win-win right.

Getting to Yes (GTY) was a seminal work on changing negotiation from the more familiar, confrontational 'positional bargaining.'Getting to Yes: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In The trouble was, it was too theoretical for most practitioners. Many people who tried to follow Fisher and Ury's methods found themselves drawn back into the old ways. Roughly 25 years later, Horacio Falcao has finally produced a practical guide that builds on the ideas in GTY.

In the author's own words, "you might think of [Value Negotiation] as Principled Negotiation 2.0......It is a new branch of win-win, which is hopefully the best current response to negotiation challenges." As an experienced negotiator, mediator and trainer of other negotiators, I can honestly say, I think he's right.

Value Negotiation holds enormous promise for those committed to finding a better way to interact and negotiate profitable agreements. Whilst some people may still find it a little bit academic in a few places, overall it shows what people need to do and how to overcome the obstacles one finds along the way. For those who are prepared to persevere, stumble occasionally and continue learning it is the way forward.

Two heads above anything else on the subject of negotiations and decision-making

Having had the privilege of taking Professor Falcao's course at INSEAD, I can honestly admit that this is a new level for teaching negotiations. This book is not about giving you 20 predefined scripts of how to deal with salesmen, and brokers, and difficult clients who do not want to buy some crappy stuff from you. This book lays a foundation for your own independent thinking about negotiations as a process, as a science, if you will.

Horacio gives a very structured outline on the current "traditional" methods of negotiations, as well as alternative views. He gives a very practical framework on how to approach absolutely any negotiation with the right mentality. He does not teach you how to beat the other guy. He teaches how to create maximum value for both parties and thus for yourself.

I can go on talking about the book, but it is much more advisable for EVERYONE to just buy it and read it carefully, ideally as a study book - dedicating time on a regular basis to read it and think through. I can assure you, it is one of the most rewarding non-fiction books you will ever read.

A fresh look at win-win negotiations

There are many books on win-win that have been written by individuals that were part of the Harvard Program on Negotiation (PON). What sets this book apart from those other books is he takes the basic concept of win-win and he adds a number of fairly common concepts about negotiating that he applies to the win-win approach. Including them within the book gives readers who may not be familiar with negotiation a road map on how to do win-win negotiation right. That is exactly what he promises in the title, I think its great book for its primary intended audience which is college students wanting to learn about win-win negotiations. I gave it 4 stars looking at it from the view of a professional negotiator. Its a good book for professional negotiators to read. Many of the concepts will be a repeat of things they probably learned from other books, It was good to see those concepts being used in providing a roadmap for the win-win approach.

No online code for my Spanish lab

My class requires the access to the online myspanishlab feature that isn't free. This book didn't come with an access code so now in addition to purchasing this book which I thought would include access to that feature, I will have to spend additional money to purchase access to an online feature that should have came with the book.
