About the Author

New York Times bestselling author Catherine Bybee was raised in Washington State, but after graduating from high school, she moved to Southern California with hopes of becoming a movie star. Truly enjoyable

From the moment I read the first page I knew I was going to like this book. It was light hearted and intense and sexy and funny and so much fun to read.
Judy is graduating from college with a double major and ready to move to California with her best friend Meg. They will be staying at Judy's super famous brothers Beverly Hills mansion and the plus is that she'll get to see a lot of Rick. He is part of her brothers security team and she might have a serious crush on him.
For Rick, the feeling is mutual. He felt the pull of Judy from the very first time that they met and he hasn't been able to get her out of his mind. The fact that they will both be living in southern California is causing him to smile more than anyone has ever seen.
However, things go awry when Judy is attacked for reasons unknown, Rick is erroneously implicated and they end up married in an effort to keep him out of prison.
I know it sounds like an insane premise, but somehow it works and I couldn't stop myself from reading this story. There were too many late nights where I couldn't put it down. I'm now going to go back and read the other books in the series because I really enjoyed this one.

Byree has written a great novel that entwined love and intrigue. She writes about realistic people and events and then the characters are wrapped up in a mystery that keeps the reader wanting more and more. If you like Bybee, you will love this book.

Not as good as the others, this book brings in the usual characters which appear in a series like this. Not bad, but I am wondering if there is anything NOT perfect about the families involves in the main characters lives. I like Rick and I like Judy and the mystery was okay. Off to read the next two because I am determined to finish the lot now.

Great for parents to read to children!

The Giant Killer takes the reader back to a time before auto-mobiles. It is a time of horse drawn carriages and Church every Sunday. The story is about a family which must adjust to the new arival of two spoilt boys, who arrive at the outset of the tale. The mother of the house reads to the children the tale of "The Giant Killer" over a couple of weeks. In-between readings the children are inspired to inspect their responsiblities to family, community and God; and how to get along with each other. This is a great book to start introducing children to Biblical values and wisdom. 5-10 year olds

This book is currently available by the publisher and Vision Forum, I do not know why it is not available through Amazon.

It is a terrible looking book

I wouldn't buy this again. If you REALLY want to read the text of this book, this edition is a viable option but it has been scanned in from an old copy with a text reader and has not been proof read. It is a terrible looking book, and unappealing to read. The actual text is not super inspiring either. I was looking for gifts for Sunday School prizes akin to The Basket of Flowers or Teddy's Button -- classic stories. This is not a good enough story to be given out to kids.

This was such a great treat to our family. The book is half story, half allegory. Which is wonderful in that the mother (in the story) telling the allegory then helps to understand and internalize the truths to which it points. We stil comment to one another about "fighting our giants"!

Not up to date, but very good.

As far as I can tell, this book has not been updated since the publication of the 15th edition in 1960. Nevertheless, although it is not up to date I would not call it "outdated," since it provides a snapshot the philosophical concerns of its day. In this respect, it is especially helpful when one is reading anglo-american philosophy of the early twentieth-century. It is also quite good, in my opinion, in terms of achieving the appropriate balance of breadth and depth for a philosophical dictionary.

This work contains some interesting information, and can be used as a source in researching particular topics. But it , in my opinion, was never really comprehensive enough. And having had its most recent edition close to fifty years ago is not up-to- date.
